Power window motors

Are the front and rear window motors the same? I need a motor for the rear and can't seem to find any info on them...

Re: Power window motors

I bought four of the same part number for my suburban, drilled the old adapters off and used small bolts to attach to the new motors. Works a lot better now but would like to do the relay wiring mod someday.

Re: Power window motors

I considered the relay mod but then discovered that a new Delco motor solved the slow window problem on my 83 C20. I had previously installed Delco motors but found out that they had two different part numbers. When I bought the second replacement motor it was much faster - I believe it was the one that came without the mounting bracket attached, and it was the less expensive of the two models. I will eventually change the other motor with the cheaper one. It may just be that I got poor quality motors the first time, but I think that second motor was a slightly different style. So, I think I would look for those low priced Delco motors. As I recall, the Delco motors were actually cheaper at the OEM vendors than aftermarket motors. I would try the usual suspects:
www.oewarehouse.com
www.oehq.com
www.autopartstomorrow.com
www.rockauto.com
www.gmpartsdirect.com

Another seller is Dave's Auto Parts, which sometimes has parts that the other vendors do not have.

I have used all of these vendors with success, and some like the first two have free shipping or low cost shipping.
