Re: vapor canister delete and pcv replacement
There is no reason to delete the canister, it keeps the truck from stinking like gas. It takes no horsepower away by keeping it and it increases fuel economy by a miniscule amount. You aren't legally allowed to delete emissions equipment anyways, even if you don't have inspections.

Then i'll leave it on its not that big of a deal really I just more or less wanted to know if I didn't hook up all the lines coming from it to the carb if I'd be ok

There's the one you won't be able to hook up that went to the carb, cap it.

Yes you can put a breather where the pcv valve is.

Re: vapor canister delete and pcv replacement
So everything will run right without the pcv valve

Re: vapor canister delete and pcv replacement
Deleting PCV is bad. First, the blowby from the piston rings wil nominally create pressure in the crankcase. This wants to escape. If you pluc off the PCV it pushes out past the seals, usually the ream main, taking oil with it. If you put in a breather, the same thing happens, only it pushes oil vapor out the breather, oiling the outside of the engine nicely. A properly installed PCV keeps a slight negative pressure in the crankcase, keeping pressure off the seals and oil offf the outside.
If you want to clean it up add nice hose or hose covers in yur choice of colors. As far as the vapor tank, it doesn't hurt, and you can reconnect the small hose and keep it functional. If it truely ofends you you can replace its tank connection with a vented looped line, like everything made in the 60's, and just ignore the gas smell.

Re: vapor canister delete and pcv replacement
Can I just take the tank vent line and put a breather in that like what's in the line coming off the differential and how would I run the pcv valve right now it's hooked into the canister and then the pcv valve then the carb. Can I just run from the carb to the pcv valve

Re: vapor canister delete and pcv replacement
Can I leave the vent line connected to the canister without having anything else hooked up to the canister or will this cause a problem

Re: vapor canister delete and pcv replacement
Some models of squares had a vent on the line coming from the tank and some had a vent at the tank. You can run a hose from the PCV to the carb. You can also use a 3\4 ton canister that only has a line from the tank and one to the PCV then to the carb. I used a 3' section of the small hard plastic line from the old canister to run to the PCV. It cleaned up the canister plumbing a lot and still looks and functions like factory.

Re: vapor canister delete and pcv replacement
I left the vapor line from the fuel tank hooked into the canister nothing else is hooked to the canister and I hooked the pcv into a T then hooked the thing that comes down from the booster to the other side of the T and then hooked that all into the carb

Re: vapor canister delete and pcv replacement
Not very familiar with Holley carbs but it sounds good to me. Just make sure your brake booster has full manifold vacuum. Sounds like the booster hose runs around the carb to the front? Make sure you are using a hose that is made for vacuum applications. Are you using the manifold vac. port that is between the carb and distributor? Perhaps the Holley sits over that port?

The port I'm using is on the passenger side of the carb it's the only port big enough on the carb

Re: vapor canister delete and pcv replacement
And the port that is in the intake between the carb and distributor is hooked into this ball looking thing on the passenger side not sure what it does I think it has to do with the heat because the blend doors are vacuum operated not really sure if that is what it is for. That's what was hooked into that port on the old intake
