Looks like you scraped the seat springs. Are you going to go with built up foam?

My seat frame didn't have springs when I bought it, so I got a piece of plywood and cut it to fit.

I've got a foam sprayer at work, used for insulating fluid tanks. The foam is pretty dense, so I might play with that a bit just to see what I can do with it. I'm thinking I could use the spray in foam to build up a basic shape and file it down with some rough cut files, then a couple layers of softer stuff for cushion and put the seat skin over that. But that all depends on how well the spray in foam will hold up.

Red, did you do something different with your headlight bezels? The headlight looks slightly recessed into the bezel instead of slightly bugged out of the bezel like they often were stock. Like this:

Wow, you've got a good eye. The headlights are from the '76 I pulled the engine from. I couldn't find one of my inner headlight buckets from the '50, not even certain I ever had it to tell you the truth, so I tried the '76 buckets. They made the light stick out too far, so I cut the backs out of them and welded in some new metal. Gives it kind of a frenched look. I'll try to get some pics today.

Spent the weekend getting my tailgate and doors knocked into shape. 3 coats of high build vanilla primer each, sanding with 220 between coats and I have some pretty nice pieces to hang this week. Probably shoot them tomorrow in sealer primer to match the rest of the truck.

I stole this idea from member xpickup, welded the outer garnish moldings around the window to the door frame and finished it all out smooth. Make for a cleaner look, but doesn't detract from the original beauty these trucks already have on their own. Thanks Shannon, this is something I would never have come up with on my own, yet seems so obvious to my taste.

Don't mind the run in the paint there at the back edge of the window, I tripped over the damn air hose and almost pushed the door off the table its sitting on......

Yeah, I really do Shannon. Looks cleaner, and less of a chance for more rust later on. Deffinetly cleans it up.

Well, I threw some color on a door and the tailgate today. One more door to go, but my arms are sore and somebodies gotta spend some time with my wife, might as well be me I guess. Lol.

Been busy the last few weekends, haven't had much time for the truck. I did get one door hung, and the majority of the wiring is ran.


One more door to hang, a little more wiring and the rest of the glass, then I should be able to drive it regularly for the rest of the summer. Maybe one of these days I'll get around to mounting my running boards........

Well, not much progress since the last post, work has picked up quite a bit lately and I also acquired a boat project that I've been tearing into lately. But the big news is I finally got to drive the truck for the first time!

I bought it a piece at a time, so it hasn't been complete enough to drive until now. I still have much work ahead of me, but I'm pretty excited to get back to work on it now. Hunting season opens for me next weekend, but I cleaned up the shop today so that everything will be ready for me to jump back into it when the season is over. Pretty excited to have a driver for next summer!

I slowed down quite a bit during hunting season this year, I had a multi season tag this year and ended up hunting for almost 2 1/2 months solid. Between that and end of the year at work I lost motivation to do anything else but sleep. Lol. I did just clean my shop up this weekend though, and the plan is to get back at it Saturday.

I work in Everett, so you probably have seen me around in the Yotamiester somewhere.

Need to get to work on my chopped '49, been slacking on my hot rod projects for a while getting my Toyota built (1990 regular cab 4X4 swapped over to extended cab). I'll have to start a new thread whenever I get to the chopped one.
