Are the cabs on these trucks the same as the pickups? Also did the factory make crew cabs or were the aftermarket conversions? Are the interior parts the same, such as dash, windshield, door panels, gauges ect?

they are different in the fact that they have a flat floor and the pickups have the transmission hump also the rear windows in some instances are different...

They share some parts, dash pad and stuff, sometimes doors and panels, windows, etc. It varies quite a bit depending on how the truck was equipped originally. The cab itself is entirely different with a different firewall, floor, back wall, and mounting points. As far as I know they were only single cab, but I'm sure there were some aftermarket sleeper conversions and stuff.

I've always thought it would be neat to chop the small rear window into a pickup, and shorten the frame on a C60 to fit a Suburban cab.

An old friend of mine had/has a crew cab. I'll have to go by there to see if he still has it. Used it to haul honey bee hives to south TX. Had some interesting stories about getting stopped by the weight man(highway patrol). They never kept him pulled over for very long.
