Fuel pump and filter

Just don't want to buy parts twice so looking for some advice on the suggested filter and pump. I am planning on going with a boyds tank, but using an external fuel pump. What are your thoughts on these. My motor is a 02 5.3, so it has the return line coming from the fuel rail.

If you going to buy a tank, Why not go Internal Fuel Pump?

I thought about it and still might. Just trying to weigh my options. If I for sure go with the Boyd's tank I will go with in tank. What are the advantages of each? A external pump would be easier to change if need be.

External pumps are easier to change, but internal dont go out as much since they are in the tank and cooled by the fuel. Also electric fuel pumps are designed to push fuel, not pull, so internal is better for that also. I too would go internal pump if you are buying a custom made tank. Also, since you have a return line on your fuel rail, you don't need the Corvette filter/regulator. Just get a regular filter and run the feed and return lines from the tank.

I'll do some research on the filters that are being used on the ls swaps. Any filter that seems to be better than most?

+1, 2 and 3.....

As far as fuel filters, I would install a 10 Micron post pump filter with a 100 Micron pre pump filter.

Okay, the search is on, I will find one then post back here what I find. One other question I do have is what about the regulator and filter that is on the fuel rail already?

It looks like Aeromotive has a few good options for the pre and post filters. Is there any need for a filter on the return line?

That is just a regulator not filter on rail you do not need a filter on return line

If you go with an intank pump, you don't need a pre-filter, that's what the sock on the pump is for. Just get a filter for between the pump and rail on the feed side. Leave the regulator on the rail alone and let it do it's job. Just run the return line back to the tank and you will be good.

Ls1 thanks for that info. After researching seems like that is what all other swaps are using. I am going to go with the Boyd's tank with in tank pump.
