18" tire load rating question??

So I went to my local discount tire yesterday to buy tires for my 1971 C10. I have 18x8 and 18x9.5 boss 338 Wheels. I've lowered truck with CPP 5" kit. I'm looking at getting 245/45R18 for the fronts and 275/40R18 for the rears. The guy at discount told me the load rating on these tires won't handle the weight of the truck! So he would sell them to me but wouldn't install them or give any warranties. So... My question to you guys is, should I worry about load rating or run 'em anyway? If I need to change tire size I will, I just want tires to look beefy and fill the wheel wells.
Thanks for any help!

Everybody seems to think these trucks are heavy. They are actually LIGHTER than your brand new Chevrolet Malibu. My 67 big block stepside weighs 3460 LBS with 1/2 tank of gas and my fat backside in it.

For load range IF you don't put 1000 lbs of crap in the bed, any passenger car tire is good to go. Most are rated for 1700 lbs EACH so, if you aren't using your truck to haul lead ingots any tire he has in stock of that size will work.

As for looking beefy, this is a 275 60 R17 next to the 235 60 R 15's that were on my truck when I bought it.
