Throttle cable,bracket problem
Putting throttle cable in my 67. Got a new 71 cable and engine mounted bracket. The cable is round where it is supposed to be held in. The bracket has a square hole with a slot in it to hold the cable. Am i stupid, missing something, or both. All of the aftermarket brackets have square holes.

Re: Throttle cable,bracket problem
It appears that you have the wrong bracket. The bracket that you need has a round hole and all of the ones that I have seen are short with a pin that holds the bracket in place along with one mounting bolt. Here is a picture of one of the short ones with the round hole. The pin was missing on this one so I used a 1/4 screw as a substitute for the pin.

Re: Throttle cable,bracket problem
thanks, that was $40.00 for a bracket that was supposed to work with their cable.
