Daniel i have a question. i was looking at your post and noticed we have the same seats but yours are mounted lower than mine. where did you mount it? mine looks to be 3 inches higher than yours.

Re: Project '54 5W Chevy HELP PLEASE!!
Are you mounting your seat to the stock platform or did your Glide seat come with something? Mine is sitting on a custom platform that does sit lower to eliminate the nose bleed feel, lol.

Dan... You've done a very nice job on your truck. I finally had a chance to go through your build and it looks way cool! Not sure what to do about my latches, so I might have to rethink my plan. Did you get your truck finished? I'd like to see what it looks like...

Re: Project '54 5W Chevy HELP PLEASE!!
My truck is sitting on 4 jack stands in my garage until our finances get better and the wife gets a kitchen remodel or somthing else she wants. I can't afford to continue working on it now, but it doesn't cost me anything to leave it in my garage next to the Harley.

Re: Project '54 5W Chevy HELP PLEASE!!
Got some tires (just rollers) on the '54 the other day and picked up a few bumper bolts at the local hot rod shop this afternoon. I got hit hard at $7.50 a bolt, but I wanted them today and didn't want to wait for Brother's to ship them. Anyways, the rear bumper is on and now I'll need to take some pics for you guys.

Re: Project '54 5W Chevy HELP PLEASE!!
The wheels are off of a 1977 Oldsmobile "Delta 88". They are standard 15" GM steel wheels with Oldsmobile hub caps. I bought the center cones at a hot rod shop for $10 a piece and placed them over the emblem. I plan on selling them all when I get the funds to buy the wheels I want.
http://image.corvettefever.com/f/cor...l-hub-caps.jpg Much like the Camaro's and Vette's had in the late 60's-early 70's. For now they make good rollers though.

Re: Project '54 5W Chevy HELP PLEASE!!
I used that same seat and mounted it on the original frame. Im tall so I didn't put that much foam in the backs so I could have a little more leg room. I put my fuse box and remote resevior under the seat (it tilts forward) and there is plenty more room for an amplifier or whatever.

Re: Project '54 5W Chevy HELP PLEASE!!
It's good to see someone with money to finish their truck. I'm doggy paddling financially and trying my best to keep our other 2 vehicles running. I'm not complaining though as I still have my job when a great number of Americans are without. Your seat looks great and inspires me to get going again. Once my wife is happy with her '85 4X4 Silverado, I'll start back on the '54. Any pictures of the seat in different positions? Mine sits on a track that slides forward/backward. The back portions drop down for access behind the seat, as well as the bottom tipping up for storage under the seat. I'm thinking a lock box/mini safe and a roadside emergency/first aid kit under the seats. My amp/speaker box is behind it. Thanks again for the inspiration

Re: Project '54 5W Chevy HELP PLEASE!!
I finally got something done on the truck today. The drive line was cut and balanced. I put it in today and Friday my brother is coming over to help me bleed the brakes.
