Best place to buy gauges?

I have been working on my 51 3100 and need to start pricing out gauges. I have checked out classical instruments but they seem to be around $900.

Is that what everyone else uses or does anyone here have another suggestion they have used?

Oh, and since I have your attention, thoughts on steering wheels?

Thanks!
Chuck

Re: Best place to buy gauges?

You might check out Boese Engineering, especially if you're interested in a full cluster. They even supply the turn signal and hi beam LEDs.

Jegs and Summit sell Autometer, other brands.

Re: Best place to buy gauges?

I used Autometer gauges on the truck and they perform well. Did have to make our own bezels from existing gauges.

Burb will have Dakota Digital. Have them in the '56 and really like them.

For steering wheels I like LeCarra out of Oneida TN.

All depends on what style you want.

Re: Best place to buy gauges?

I got mine from Speedway Motors, both the 5-gauge set & the surround, from Omega Kustoms. I'm happy with the fit, finish & function as well as price.

Hey, thanks for the call out guys. I really appreciate it.

Let me know if I can help you with your gauges. I can do a stock restoration with a 12V conversion and some mild custom touches if that is something you are interested in. The speedometer/odometer will also be rebuilt and work like new.

Have a good holiday,
Take care,
Tom

Re: Best place to buy gauges?

I used the Dakota Digital new VHX Series and I love them. You can add additional modules to add features, I added a shift indicator. They include the high beam indicator and turn signals....super clean.
