Need pic, green tinted replacement glass

I'm ordering replacement door and back window glass from Truck Shop in Orange, Ca. for my 58 GMC. They have 2 choices, clear or green tint but there's no pic to see what that green tint looks like. Someone got pics out there?

It's not very dark, more like what might have been original to these trucks, if tint was available in TFs. Here's a pic of mine.

Re: Need pic, green tinted replacement glass

Thanks for the pic. I'm not exactly going for the vintage (green) look on the truck, so I may just order clear and then have a light gray tint done on the sides and back window.

Yeah, I found grey tinted glass at some of the other suppliers. I was hoping to find the complete assemblies with chrome frames but it looks like green or clear is the only option on the complete assemblies.

Re: Need pic, green tinted replacement glass

Have you called them? The supplier should be able to supply them with the grey glass, pretty common.

Re: Need pic, green tinted replacement glass

I'm going to give Classic Parts a call in the morning and see if the assemblies can come with grey tinted glass.

I just looked at their catalog, the gray side glass and vent is the glass ONLY, does not come in frame assemblies.

I bought a GMC version of a '57 Cameo when I was about 15. It had every option power steering and power brakes. It also had tinted glass. I saved the glass for years but eventually left it in a storage unit during one of my moves. I had always believed the glass was original as the truck had been sitting since the late '60s and I couldn't imagine anyone paying to replace all the glass with tinted pieces. Wish I'd been smart enough to save that truck...

Re: Need pic, green tinted replacement glass

"saved the glass" Does that mean that you junked the rest? I guess most of us have vehicles that we wish we had saved, but they were just old cars and trucks back then.

I've seen lots of Cameos but don't think I've ever actually seen one of the GMCs other than in pics.

Re: Need pic, green tinted replacement glass

Yes, I junked it. I bought it before I had a driver's license for parts for a deluxe cab Chevy I was building. It was very rusty and I didn't have any skills or help so I stripped it and let the rest go for junk.

The truck was really pretty... green exterior with two tone interior, deluxe cab, bbw, plenty of chrome and stainless. The bed had been sold many years before as I had to cut a 6" diameter tree out of the frame rails. But if there was an option available this truck had it. I knew the truck was special but I didn't realize how unique it was. You're absolutely right, though. The handful of car guys I knew back then just thought of it as another old truck and I thought that meant it would never be worth restoring.

Re: Need pic, green tinted replacement glass

I know! I know!!!

Parked next to it was a '28 Chevy truck / doodlebug that I'd dragged out of the woods and gotten running. Also gone!
