Weird exhaust manifold
Has anyone ever saw this before factory or modified

Stock manifold used on mid fifties 283's had that.
The tube supplied hot exhaust to the choke coil. Directly in the centre of the choke cap. The coil housing had a vacuum connection into the venturi in the base of the carb. The manifold vacuum pulled the hot gases thru the coil warming it up. The carb in the pic has a hot air choke converted to use the old line. |

My father's 1963 split window corvette has the same set up. It's an original 327ci 340hp car. The tube goes directly to the choke. Eric |

I thought it was something someone made but looked to nice to be home fabricated and now I know. Eric, send me a measurement of the washer diameter on the bolt with the captured washer I found some with 2 different size washers.
