Temp sensor in 1997 tahoe
Just purchased a 2 door 97 Tahoe. The temp gauge doesn't work. I was going to replace the sensor until i realized the gauge doesn't even twitch with key off or key on which lead me to believe it may be a power issue. What do you guys think? This is the first Chevy I've owned in this generation (96+). Also I noticed that the sensor has two leads, one for gauge and one for fuel injection algorithm? Just a guess, thanks everyone and happy sunday

Re: Temp sensor in 1997 tahoe
There is a sensor for the pcm located by the thermostat. There is a sensor on the side of the left cylinder head for the gauge. Unplug the sensor on the cyl head, then turn the key on and see what happens. Then ground the pigtail with a jumper wire and watch the gauge.

Temperature gauge does not change when wire is grounded out
