New To the Crew!
Hey guys i just purchased a 55-59 (still trying to figure out) shortbed big window! paid 550$ for it out of a salvage yard. Its pretty solid floors are Beautiful! only rot i could find was a eaten cab corner. The truck has a five lug set up with the 4.75 bolt pattern so im working on trying to figure out what there out of.
Plans arnt figured out yet but its the typical 19 year old broke boy budget build haha. tomorrow im picking it up and taking it down to my buddys place to work on for the winter or till i get my hands on a storage unit haha. heres a few pics from earlier. Yes its only a cab , frame, door, and fenders haha.

Welcome, It looks like you picked yourself up a fairly solid cab there. What's the master plan?

It does the heavy work and hauls the projects around. |

im shooting for getting it together and driving it for now. i Love the patina it has but wont be able to fully keep it using other mixed and matched panels... So i plan to get it all together then paint it a solid color then drive the wheels off of it. still deciding on the powerplant but im thinking a small block with a 700r4

Nice score! looks like it had the deluxe trim and heater. I got my 59 at 17 and it looks like you have a more solid cab than I did. Check out my build thread for pics.

Looks like a solid start. If those are the fenders off of it it's a 55 - 57 model. If the serial number tag is still on the cab, on the post to the left of the windshield, you can find out the exact year.

Thanks Everyone! i plan on getting more pics of it today aswell as finding a place to put it, i may be getting a small storage unit to wrench on it in but still undecided will update ya'll when i get home later tonight!

Welcome to the forum!
If you're not sure what year it is, I assume you don't have a title? If it were me, I wouldn't spend a penny on it until you get one. There have been several horror stories from forum members who started their builds, and waited to get their title.

wtf??? i haven't seen a junkyard like that since i was a wee lad
 i see lots of potential projects parked around yours good score ! i second what mr bowties said above: get a title in hand before you spend one dime on it as for work space? those storage units can get spendy, look at the cost for a year, around here that could be in the thousands your 19 and live in texas, be a shade tree mechanic

well the truck didnt make it to my buddys house he had to make an emergency plumbing call so we couldnt tow it. I dont have a title for it, But im lookig for the Easiest possible way to get a title for it... Anyone know what the Easiest LEgal way of going about getting a title for it is? Builders title? bonded title? salvage title? i have a bill of sale thats about it haha Thanks for the help guys!

I just went through the title situation, and I don't know about a builders title, but you can't file for a bonded title unless it's a fairly complete truck and I thought I could sneak by with out it being a complete truck WRONG I had to load it up and drive 2 hours to have the DPS inspect it and give me a form for the bonded title process
