Nice Highlander on Craigslist
...saw this nice little 1/2 ton highlander on Craigslist and thought I'd share.
It doesn't show the SPID in the pics but that can always be verified if it is available to see if its a real one. Personally, I like finding these trucks not too far off factory/stock and this one does not appear to have been messed with too much....at least as shows in the pics. That pricing as well makes it, in my opinion....probably a pretty good deal. Nice to know these trucks keep popping up out there!! My two bits. Coley http://spokane.craigslist.org/cto/4760045727.html

Re: Nice Highlander on Craigslist
It could very well be a Highlander besides the plaid seat it is a Custom/Deluxe with carpet on the floor. If the seller isn't a 67-72 enthusiast he may not know its a Highlander.

Re: Nice Highlander on Craigslist
Looks very clean except for the mirrors and the cut dash for the radio which tells me the doors have most likely been cut for speakers too. Forgivable sins for such a clean and dry truck though.

Re: Nice Highlander on Craigslist
Dash may be ok. Radio has knobs... Some aftermarket knob style radios have a plastic plate that covers the original holes. Nice truck!!

Re: Nice Highlander on Craigslist
yes - mid-72 opened up the highlander trim (plaid) bench seat option, also the special promotional packages a/b/c that included the plaid bench seat. available in orange, gray, avocado, or blue as shown. gotta love it!
this one is intersesting. note the lack of lower trim moldings. also note the presence of tilt, but not a/c. guessing probably a pkg B truck or just a highlander seat trim truck. Last edited by jocko; 11-15-2014 at 11:09 PM. |

Re: Nice Highlander on Craigslist
From the belt molding only it is easy to assume this is a modified Promo Package truck amd in this case was a YG7 or "B". However it could also be a plaid trim truck. Without a SPID (or build sheet) its impossible to tell.
In any event the Highlander cloth plaid trim was offered from the begining of production in 72 and carried through at least the 73 model year. Highlander Promo Package trucks were also offered that bundled options with the Highlander Plaid Trim. These were sales savings packages A,B and C with increasing levels of content. Thus a YG6,7 or 8 coded promo package truck was also a Highlander but a Highlander trim code was NOT ALWAYS a promo package equipped truck. Promo package codes and savings over individual option costs. A= YG6 Plaid Trim, Special Wheelcovers C10 (PA1) or Chrome Hubcaps C20-30 (PO3), Chrome Front Bumper, Upper Bodyside Molding (belt, pickups only), Door Edge Guards and Below Eye-Line Mirrors (DG4 on Pickups/Suburbans and DF2 Campers on Blazers). A $94.50 savings. B= YG7 (includes A) Adds Turbo-Hydramatic Trans., Power Steering and Tilt. A $178.50 savings. C= YG8 (includes A and B) Adds A/C and Tint. A $260.50 savings. Here are some of the pictures for when the ad goes away.
