Re: 72 2wd Blazer: Project "Break Me"
Did you go out and work on it for me???? LOL I haven't done much considering I have the 68 truck to work on too. I am waiting to see what my job situation is going to do before I spend any more money and plus with the 100+ degree heat.... it has been hot in my shop!!

Re: 72 2wd Blazer: Project "Break Me"
It sounds like we suffer from the same "problem" of buying new projects before the other is finished. I can't stop, researching new projects is just too fun. Good luck with the cooler weather, its supposed to be 108 here for the next few days and I'm trying to install a new patio.

The drivers side lined up pretty good but the passenger side lined up like a snake. I have done some measuring on the 68 truck and figured a lot of it out. Remember that we said this thing had been wrecked before? Well it had warped the firewall/cowl area and I am getting things back in line from the measurements on the truck. I am fixing to head out to the shop and see if I can't get the door pillars to match the measurements of the truck and she should line up pretty good. If I can get her to fitting good I will get the firewall in it and get the floor pans done. I am undecided if I want to finish it before the truck as the amount it will take to do the truck ($20000) I can finish the trazer. I need to stick to one and get it done and then start on the other. The trazer has a lot of work to be done but so does the truck. I guess we will see which gets done 1st. |

Re: 72 2wd Blazer: Project "Break Me"
I got everything to fitting a lot better than it ever has... it took some jacking and pulling but the door gaps look 100 times better. I have to get the hood back on now and see how it lines up with the outer cowl panel and the fenders to see it will all work. If it does I will see if I can get another firewall made and installed. At one point I was sitting it the shop with a cold beer in my hand thinking..... maybe I should just cut the front suspension out and put it under the 68 and build me a new frame for the blazer... I finished my beer and went back to work I really wish I would have made him jack this thing up before I bought it and I would have seen the frame had been spliced.... I would have hauled a$$ back to bama with the money in my pocket!! Oh well, live and learn. This was the 1st old truck I ever bought and I took his word for it... lesson learned the hard way. It will still make a nice ride in the end but there is a long way to the end!!!

It's coming along nice. I don't know how you juggle 2 project, I have a hard enough time with one.

Re: 72 2wd Blazer: Project "Break Me"
Nothing new... I am working on a 87 2 door s10 blazer right now. Taking the LQ9 out of the m1009 and using the t56 in it, building something I can enjoy. The s10 was free and is a 2 owner, been in the same family for the last 20 something years. Building it so the wife and kid can get in and us go places and in comfort and still should run with a stock vette I have been wanting a v8 s10 for years and this one fell in my lap.
When the old man gets done with his nova maybe I will get back to work on the trazer. If I had it to do over I would have not gone this route since I have a kid now but it is what it is and I will finish one day...maybe Or maybe my son will finish it one day. I had some pics of it when I got it but they are on the old cell phone I had. That is a mock up motor I had laying around. |

Re: 72 2wd Blazer: Project "Break Me"
Oh yeah, the 68 truck was such a piece of crap that I scrapped the cab. I need to sell what is left of it and move on.
