I missed this place! I must say the guys over at Slick '60s (they dig Brand-X trucks) are a bunch of good guys, too. Every bit as cool and helpful as the people on this site. Then again, anyone with an affinity for old trucks is okay in my book.
Furthermore, after owning a '66 F100 for a while, I'd have to say the Detroit/Dearborn debate is moot. Both marquees make excellent products and both have their quirks. That said, I'm in love with my new GMC, and glad to see the end of my old Ford. After two 240 engines, several carbs and an total ignition system overhaul (Motorcraft stuff is awful: I used a GM single wire and four-pin HEI), it ran great for a week. Then a wrist pin let go... While I realize that could happen to any old engine, my luck with GM inliners has been much better. Last edited by Oregoon; 11-17-2014 at 02:33 PM. |
