C1500 Suburban 5.7L Vortec Shocks

I bought suburban used and the guy left me with Eagle rims and a little wider tires 31X10.5 R15 instead of the stock P235 75R 15XL.
The ride is terrible. All suspension parts in the front are new - all Moog. Shocks 3 yrs. old. Autozone he said. No idea what brand.

My issue is I have had more than one person tell me my ride is terrible because of the wide tires. Need to go back to stock. Gas mileage not very good either. Only averaging about 10 MPG.

Thoughts?

Gas shocks the best for suburbans?

I run these Ranchos from Summit on my 95 ext cab truck and they ride pretty nice. The links are for the suburban shocks (not sure if they are different).

Re: C1500 Suburban 5.7L Vortec Shocks

First off, your mileage is going to be off with a tire that tall. I believe when I had my 96, your speedo/odemter is going to be 0ff by approximately 5 MPH. Your speedo will say 60, but your doing 65. Means you are traveling more distance. Your going about 5%further than what the odemeter reads. (that will add maybe a1.5 to 2 mpg to what you see.

Also the 31x10.50s are more of an off road type tire, so they have stiffer sidewalls. Me I would still keep them, but if you want more tire, but closer to stock sidewall flex go with 255/70x15 (and your speedo will be accurate).

Like mentioned above the Rancho shocks are really good for these year vehicles. So are the Monroe Max LT HD.

BTW 12-13 around town/mixed driving is pretty average for a burb. You are pulling a lot of weight (bout 1K more), compared to a pickup.
