They should have kept making the old 186, 041 and 492 heads and put them on there. Shoot you could put a set of 305 heads on that engine even with the smaller intake valves and make more power.

IMAGINE how that engine would run with a set of aftermarket aluminum 64cc chamber 190cc intake runner heads on it? Like lighting a fire?

Or even iron vortec heads would be an instant HP.
Your all most onto something. Get some late 90's fast burn vortech heads. They outflow any of the heads (even ported) fore mentioned out of the box. They have small heart shaped combustion chambers and w that cam will do wonders. The intake will need to match the heads though. Oh and threads are a dime a dozen.

Re: Not thrilled with power from new 350

I changed my oil after I broke in my cam and didn't see a spec of metal in the oil, been checking my oil every day and what a pain it is to see on the dipstick! It's so clean I can hardly tell theres oil there, scared me the first time because I thought it was empty. Not used to perfectly clear oil! Any ideas how to make oil show up easier on the dipstick? Drill holes in it? Paint it white?
