Play in door hinges.

I reinstalled one of my doors back on the cab that I am rebuilding. How much play should I have before I need to rebuild the hinges? The hinges feel tight off of the truck. But I can pry up the door at the B pillar about a 1/4" is this normal?

Thanks for your help.

Re: Play in door hinges.

It`s much easier to do this wth the doors on and the fenders off.

Where did you purchase the pins and bushings?

Re: Play in door hinges.

Thread resurrection....

When I open my passenger door, it seems to drop a bit from the latch.

I guess that means there is wear somewhere in the hinges.

Does that sound right, or do I have a different problem to worry about??

Thanks. Rian.

Yep, if you lift up on the back of the door by the latch and it moves up & down the hinges are worn and need new pins & bushings or to be replaced.
