Re: What tires are you running?

I'm running these peerless baja widetrack tires, I like em pretty good. They were on the truck when I bought it, I cant seem to find anyone that sells them in my area so if something happens to one of them then i'll be forced to buy 4 new tires. I'll end up getting something that discount tire stocks. I'll probably go with Michelin. They make a good tire.

My current size is p265/75R16

Re: What tires are you running?

A lot depends on how you use your truck and also how you view its preservation. My 72 Cheyenne is a very original truck and was originally owned and used by a general contractor. I doubt it saw much use having tools and building materials dumped in it's bed. I think the contractor supervised his crews and kept the truck very clean and original. It originally had whitewall tires. I replaced the 6 months ago and about the only whitewall tire I could find was 225/75R15 Toyo whitewalls. The truck rides and drives very nicely. It is smooth and stabile around town and on the road. I have a 72 Olds Cutlass Convertible with BFG Radial T/As and it rides very harsh compared to my pickup. Since I mostly use my truck for pleasure, I want it to have a nice ride, good traction and handling for normal driving. My wife and I drove it from south Florida to the NC mountains in April and it was a pleasure to drive.

Re: What tires are you running?

I have BFG AT KOs on my K20..... sounds like you may be looking for something a bit less aggressive but still capable in winter. My other trucklet (Tacoma) is currently running Michelin LTX ATs and I've been very happy with them. Maybe also consider Michelin LTX MS2, looks more like a highway tread but gets great reviews for snow.

Re: What tires are you running?

I dont mind an aggresive tire. im more looking for a good looking tire.some tires just look wimpy or are not a good application for these trucks. i manage a Mr. Tire store so I know what tires are good brands and what im looking for in performance but looks idk yet. Ive considered LT26575R16/E cooper discoverer at/3 but ik in a half ton 2wd application they are not the most desirable. any pics of what you are running?

Re: What tires are you running?

I had Cooper Cobra P255/70R15 on 15 x 8 rallys my other truck and they worked well for me. That is a nice size for a stock height truck as they are 29.4 inches tall landfill out the wheel wells real good on the 15 x 8's.

I swear by Michelins.
They may cost a little more, but they ride great and wear like hockey pucks.

Re: What tires are you running?

I run Yokohama geolander a/t-s on all my vehicles.

They are good in rain and mud, excellent in snow. I live in a region where we can get snow 6 months of the year and probably drive on gravel and dirt roads 80% of the time.

In my opinion. They are a nice balance, and not bad on noise for the grip you get with them.

Re: What tires are you running?

I'm running Firestone Destinations and I love them. They aren't technically 3/4 ton specifiic I'm told, but I'm not pulling skid steers or hauling loads of stuff. It's just a toy!!! Sizes are in my sig.
