1982 Silverado Single Din Install Questions
I am looking to put a new stereo into my 1982 silverado, and from what I have read, I need this install kit: http://www.metraonline.com/part/87-99-3052 . As far as wiring the head unit, is this what I need to wire it to the truck: http://www.metraonline.com/part/71-1677-1 ? If so, how does one go about wiring it? Is it basically plug and play, or do I need a harness adapter depending on what head unit I get? Thanks

Re: 1982 Silverado Single Din Install Questions
Adapters go to the car, not the head units. You need to tie the wires from the head unit's harness into the tag ends on the adapter.

You will have to cut the metal of your dash & the plastic for it to fit, unless you are getting a 2 knob old style head unit like the original. Like panhandler said...plug adapter into truck's original radio harness. A plug with dangling wires will come with your new radio, so just connect the 2 then. You can do it!
