Joe Gibbs package
I found a Joe gibbs performance edition truck wrecked. This truck is equipped with 5.3 L and a supercharger. I am hoping to transplant the engine into my 1972 C-10 truck. What I am curious about has to do with wiring and programming. I would want to buy or modify harness to be stand alone and eliminate extra crap like emissions and VATS. From what I understand, these trucks had a SuperChips tune. Does anyone know if the computer can be re-flashed to eliminate certain functions, but still keep performance tune? Mainly because I don't want to lose the tune related to the Supercharger function.
I have not been able to find any information about what Joe Gibbs did to the fuel system. I am curious if the tune was adequate or if they had to change injectors and/or fuel pump? Thanks for any help on this.

Re: Joe Gibbs package
If you get the right guy to reflash the PCM they can take out just anything that you want or one part of one function. I don't think they put bigger injectors in the 5.3's that they put the s/c on 'cause they only ran very little boost on them If I remember it was 5 pounds. I've only seen two of those myself and one was at the sale, so they must attract a certain type of driver. Jim
