Re: looking at a 72 k10 need help
Really tough to give a value without pictures. What you have described is a $2,000 - $6,000 truck IMO.
Check the numbers, do they all add up? Frame VIN matches the VIN plate? SPID looks original and has the options you describe on it? Is the paint original? If not, is the new(er) paint hiding anything? More importantly, what are you looking for? A truck to completely customize? If so, the numbers may not matter.

Re: looking at a 72 k10 need help
Looks good in the pics, but you don't say whether it runs and drives. With a flat tire, maybe it doesn't drive too well! A running and driving truck will make a huge difference on price.
As others have said, rust/rot can make or break it, and it really depends on what the intended use is. Resto or just drive it. If resto in planned, look for the best rust-free body you can afford. If rust/rot is visible, assume it's far worse underneath. |

Re: looking at a 72 k10 need help
Wow that would be the most desirable 72 4wd if its original. Cheyenne super short boxes are few and far between

Re: looking at a 72 k10 need help
I'm assuming since you say it was orange that you've got what appears to originally have been a hugger Cheyenne Super k/10 with tach tilt etc. very nice find. By the pics the rockers are still there and I only see a little bit of rust in the wheel arch on the drivers bed side. Obviously pics only tell half the rust/rot story, but that looks to be a very nice find to me. Id buy it if I could.

Very desire able truck for sure.
But the cancer that I can see in the pictures catches my eye as to what lies unseen? Good luck! |

Re: looking at a 72 k10 need help
That thing looks like it could be really rusty. But, maybe the tailgate and wheel arch are truly the only rusty places???? You will need to check the body over real well.
As others have said, you don't see many 4x4 SWB Cheyenne Supers. Can you post a picture of the SPID? My rust tolerance would increase greatly if that's a true Cheyenne Super.

Re: looking at a 72 k10 need help
Post a picture of the SPID, let's see what it really is. You might have a heck of a truck on your hands.

Re: looking at a 72 k10 need help
No rear cargo light = not an original Cheyenne cab let alone a super
As stated, SPID pics and one of the LH pillar VIN tag would help.

Re: looking at a 72 k10 need help
Look very carefully at what it was and its current condition. Not convinced it is a true Cheyenne Super from the provided pictures.
