Re: paint code??

Paint code 4544AD would be a two tone red and white.
Red 514 or 70704 and White 521 or 2185.
Here's where I got the answer: http://www.tcpglobal.com/autocolorli...truck-pg01.jpg

Re: paint code??

Your paintcode reads 4544AD, sometimes it is typed like that and sometimes with only 3 digits.
If it is a 6 digit code like yours you should skip the first and last two digits to get the 3 digit code, 4544AD. Thats how I learned it from this board.
You will find the 544 code in the upper left corner of the text sheet UNDER RPO PAINT CODE.
544 is BASIC COLOR 70704 and BODY TWO-TONE COLOR 2185. On the paint chip sheet you will find those codes as red and white.

Re: paint code??

I wonder if 70704 can be crossed to a Duplicolor number? Their chart has a section for "1998 & prior years", but it only lists 4-character codes.

Re: paint code??

I subscribed, because my paint code is also 4544AD. I had a hard time finding it also. Then the text sheets are hard to read.Hopefully just getting old!

To clarify, your paint code is 544. The first digit, and last two digits are not part of your paint code.

Re: paint code??

67-68 paint code 544 trucks were actually 514 Medium Red body and 526 Off-White roof. The 521 bright White is only correct on the 69 up trucks as a two-tone contrast.

Re: paint code??

Just FYI, the interior parts codes are not really accurate. They're close enough for a repair job, but as an example the console in mine was blue injection-molded plastic. It's kinda close to the dash color, but not that close. The color code IS the same as the dash. So when Pebble Beach calls, do a color match without relying on them.

Re: paint code??

Thanks all for clarifying. I was 99.9% sure the interior color is factory ( red ) I imagine it is the same color as the exteriorName: HPIM1728.jpg

Size: 66.1 KB. Someone painted the exterior black, so I had no idea it came with a white roof! the front of cab and inside the fenders are also red.

Re: paint code??

Unfortunately more clarification is needed here because you have a 67.
Generally in 67 the interior metal was painted to match the trim (red, blue, green or the default fawn). In 68 it simply carried over the exterior color into the inside.
From the picture your truck certainly looks like a factory red interior to me! It should list red trim on the glove box SPID.
The factory exterior code is for a red and off-white conventional two-tone as I posted earlier. At this point you could go with a different or solid exterior color and still keep the red inside if desired. Among my favorites is off-white or white (solid) with a red interior.
Finally if you are doing a two-tone, 67 were generally a drip rail up and back paint vs the later pattern where the doors tops and pillars are off-white/white as well. There is a thread in FAQ with more. Even more if you do a site search.
