Question Wiring taillights, headlights, Easy or Hard?

Im not a genius at wiring at all.

My stupid tail light is out. ive changed the bulbs.

What tools would i need to find a short or to rewire my truck.

Plus i got the same crap with my caddy, when i turn on the headlights the freakin turn signals dont work.

Is it complicated to learn wiring? Any safety precautions i should take so i dont die? lol

any help is needed. thnx

The easiest way to start is,
Get a test light or multimeter. ( Both you can find real cheap at sears or other auto parts store)
Check to see if you have power at the bulb. If you have power then most likely you have a bad ground. Follow ground wire and look for breaks or other worn spots, then reattach grounds after cleaning up.
If you don't have power there then there is an issue with the wiring to the light.
Check the wires that run to the lights and see if there are any bad spots. Use test light to find where there IS power in the circut. From that point on you need to look for the problem.

There is alot more to do and check if you cannot find it but this is an easy start.

Wirings not complicated, it just take some time, patience, and a whole lot of fooling around around. At least that's the way I pretty much learned.

I personally see wiring as pretty simple. Just gotta isolate the seperate systems and figure them out that way
