Thanks for that Information SS Tim. It's appreciated. So the tailgate for #1 would be white with blue letters huh? Didn't know that either.

I'm still reading posts. THANKS for them.

Say Tim, you mentioned #1 had the black stripe molding. I just read the black stripe is aftermarket, as they were wood grain. Your comment is appreciated.

Lets try to clear this up.

All upper/belt moldings have black infill regardless of trim level.

Lower bodyside moldings were installed with both black or woodgrained infill.

On a Custom Deluxe (or Custom) the black infill is used.

On a Cheyenne or Cheyenne Super the woodgrained infill is used.

Custom Deluxe or Custom used upper and lower tailgate moldings while a Cheyenne or Cheyenne Super used an upper tailgate molding and a woodgrained tailgate band.

Black tailgate bands are an aftermarket offering and not correct on any trim level.

These molding usages were the same on a solid or two-toned 71 trucks.
