Question how to adapt Rack And Pinion on a 95 Suburban???

Hello Guys im triying to do an steering upgrade into a 95 chevy suburban 2 wheel drive chassis.

Im triying to adapt a 1998 camaro Rack And pinion to a 95 suburban chassis (we use this 95 suburban chassiss under a 1950 Buick convertible, we install a 98 LS1 engine and 4L60e transmission) so now we are triying to adapt the rack and pinion to the suburban chassis, I have no idea how to start?? from what i see when I try to fit the rack and pinion into the chassis i have a very small space or room to couple the rack and pinion to the steering shaft???

Any Ideas or tips?? is there any bolt on rack and pinion to this 95 suburban?

someno has adapt one? is this a crazy idea that is possible to achive or do you recomend to dismiss???

thanks for the help

Re: how to adapt Rack And Pinion on a 95 Suburban???

Its been talked about alot. They make kits for 67-72's but not for 73+. Bumpsteer is a major concern when swapping them over from what I've read. Without an aftermarket chassis is might not be worthwhile. I've resigned myself to just rebuilding the front end and swapping in a jeep GC steering box thats a constant quick steer instead of adjustable.

Try this Corvette forum:
http://www.corvetteforum.com/forums/...s-1968-1982-5/
There are a few there that have done conversions. I think I'm gonna leave my 'vette conventional steering but may put the jeep steering box in there, most say its a great improvement.

Will the Jeep box fit the 93 Suburban? If so this is something I would love to do!! Ever since I bought this one I have wished it had faster steering.

Re: how to adapt Rack And Pinion on a 95 Suburban???

Does anyone know if GM's 4WD steering boxes are the same as the 2WD?
I have a '97 4WD Tahoe that turns so sharp that I have to be careful so I don't hit myself, nothing like my 2WD, but don't know if it's the box or something else.
