Need ac info - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

I have decided to go thru my stock ac and repair what is broke and missing instead of going to a complete aftermarket system. My question is what is the best source to find out how everything hooks up. I think I'm missing some wires and I know I'm missing the vacuum hoses off of the controller in the cab. Other than what hangs off of the firewall I have nothing under the hood. Is a service Manuel what I need or is tHere someThing else?. Also hopefully I can find something that tells me how to remove everything under the dash and on the firewall so I can go thru it and replace a leaking heater core.

I started a thread a while back that will help you some. ANDY4639 posted a schematic that is very helpful under the dash. Just search my threads.

An assembly manual will be the best source of info for getting the wires and hoses in place. For that matter, the entire system.

Don't forget to have your POA Valve calibrated if you change to R134.
