Bench seat ID

Can anyone ID the seat in the right of this picture? I bought it thinking it would work in my 72, but the mounting brackets don't even come close to working. There is a tag that says GM 3944798 but I can't find anything on it.

The one on the left is my original from my 72, but it has a few broken springs

The back appears to be the same as my 72 seat, but the bottom portions is different

Re: Bench seat ID

Could this possibly be an early-mid 60's seat? The tag looks like it says Nov 1965, but Its's very faint.

Have you seen this thread?

All you need is the correct brackets to match the seat.
What does the topside of your new seat look like?

Thanks for that link. That's the first time I've seen it. I'm about ready to just push this truck off a cliff though. I now have over $7500 just in parts into a truck I couldn't get $1000 for it I sold it today. Certainly not going to let the wife know this is the incorrect seat though, especially after I recently spent $160 on an incomplete set of used molding that wasn't worth $16. Threw it in the trash I was so pissed and went and spent over $700 on the repop crap

Here is the cover of the new old seat

Re: Bench seat ID

The bottom of my 65 seat has individual coil springs, just like an old time mattress.

Re: Bench seat ID

I would love to have that seat!
It looks like the basic 69-70 pattern that is not reproduced by aftermarket seat upholstery companies.
I would bet a set of 69-70 seat brackets would work,...

Thanks for the info. Once I can verify 69-70 brackets will work, I'll try to find some that aren't made of gold. To bad you aren't closer, I'd let you have it for what I paid
