posi rear end in '56?
I have stock rear end in the truck with 4.10 gears. Is there a drop in pumpkin one can get to get a posi and retain the 6 lug? I though ti saw some posi units that bolt in from a Belair.
anyone know? or do you have to change the whole rear axle. I want to retain the 6 lug and preferably not have to do any drive shaft mods (cutting or having to buy a new one.) |

There were some posi units available in 60-62 models that would fit your housing but they are very rare. We had one in a 60 panel at one time. I believe the later model Blazer rearends can be put in. They are 6 bolt & about the same width. It will have a better ratio for highway use.

Look into the late model Colorado/Canyon trucks, and I want to say 2000 and newer Astros.
They have 6 lug rears and disc brakes from the factory to boot! |

hmm, ok, I'll check for overall length and lug pattern.
I could always either pour lead in the pumpkin or weld it. JUST KIDDING. |
