1967 c10 with 250 inline won't stay running
I left work today and the truck ran fine and went to the gas station maybe a mile down the road to clean the windows and then the truck wouldn't run. It would fire then quit immediately. I help the key to start and it would still run then as soon as i let off it would quit so I pulled the fuel filter made sure there was no gunk in it then pulled the sending unit out of the tank and checked for blockage and there was nothing. Then it fire up and ran fine now it's doing it again and I can't get it going.

Sounds like maybe a bad fuel cap causing a vacuum thus starving it for fuel. Try taking the cap off and see if it is getting fuel. If not, then you may be looking at a pump.

Check your wiring to the coil and the wiring to the ignition switch for fraying. Or are you running an hei ignition?

If the fuel pump is bad would it be better to swap to a electronic fuel pump or stay with the manual?

Sounds like a switch or wiring problem. Ign power when key in crank and not in run position. Jump a hot wire to HEI and start. If it stays running you know its the problem.

I never thought of that but it makes perfect since. I'll give you a update on it when I get home from work.

Sounds like maybe a bad ignition switch.
