Doing my first LSswap and want to make sure that I've gotten everything off the donor vehicle.

I am putting a 2004 lq4/4L80e in my '67c10.

Will be running DBW.

I've gotten the engine/trans combo with both wiring harness still connected, I also pulled the TAC module and pedal and computer.

What else do I need?

I pulled the underhood fuse block, do I need it?

Also this is the harness that goes into the cab. Do I need anything from this harness?

This is the harness that goes below the cab to what I assume will be for the ABS system and other things that I don't think I'll be using... but just want to be sure.

I would snag the body control module, ambient light sensor, rear view mirror and temperature sensor behind the grill for it. Headlight switch so you can add automatic headlights and tow haul button. Oh yeh. All the associated harness too. A bit of work to sort it all out but ls1eric would probably assist.

Personally I would skip the wiring mess from the BCM stuff, as your really won't be using most of the features it would gain you. Things like door *ding* etc aren't really useful, and unless your trying to use a modern dash, I just think its a ton of extra wiring for no real gain. If you do want all those little things, then its best to grab it all together (peicing together that stuff would suck).

Cruise control can be done with a few switches if you want it to, so you don't HAVE to grab any of the stuff on the stalk or console if you don't want to.

One of the nice parts of ls swaps is you can make them as simple or as complex as you'd like, depending on what your goal is and what kinda stuff you'd like to add.

Do you have room to store it while you do the swap? Years ago when I put TPI in my 71 I kept the Camaro until I was totally done. There were many little pieces I needed, and was very happy to be able to go back and forth from the Camaro to the truck.

I second this. When I did my swap I used many piece from the downer truck I never thought of. I would keep it until done.

I live in Mansfield (across the street from Mansfield National).

I listed a "part out" for sale on Craigslist...

Truck is gone.

I'm not interested in messing with the bcm for the other stuff. I'm just going to do a hopped up rebuild on the motor and rebuild the tranny and make this thing go...
fast!
