My brothers truck has Cherry bombs straight off the headers and is pretty darn loud. Although my truck has exhaust manifolds with straight pipe into Purple hornies that dump under the cab is louder.

Are you trying to run exhaust or just something loud that you can still drive?

Both mine and my brothers trucks are loud at idle and loud when you put the pedal to the metal, at cruising speeds they quite down some

Well right now i just have the headers running straight to dual glasspacks. Its loud idle and stepping on the gas but during crusing it is pretty quiet.

Borla mufflers are loud and give a deep rumble sound if you get the right ones. You could also get shorter glasspacks.

"Back in the day" before you ever put the glasspack on the car, you squirted lighter fluid on the inside of the muffler and lit her up. Burn out all the fiberglass then put it on the car. That way you effectively had a straight pipe, but when you got pulled over you could show the cop that you had a muffler.

well,"back in the day" we just shut it off going through a tunnell.
fuel pump was still pumping. just before exiting the tunnell, we
turned the key back on. that cleared out the muffler, too. if
there was anything left of it with that loud explosion of a muffler full
of raw fuel !

My old man used to get em super hot and then shut off the motor and put the water hose in the tail pipe and it would break up the fiber glass. Then he would just fire it up and blow out all the glass and water.

I understand the Moroso spiral flows are pretty loud, basically look like a glass pack but there is no actual packing in them, just what kind of looks like an auger inside.

I have blown up mufflers on a '74 F250 and a '69 Camaro doing that. I don't recommend it. Works best on a stick shift though......

Also back in the day, we did that on our motorcycles all the time and scare the crap out of pedestrians. I've heard that Flowmaster has stage 1, 2 & 3, one more noisy than the next. I'm with you, I like 'em loud! Thinking I might need a train horn soon...

Re: what's a good/loud glasspack?

I have dual Thrush mufflers with 2" pipe. Its not crazy loud, but it gives that nice low rumble. Similar to Flowmaster. It could be louder, but I wanted a 2 chamber muffler and 2" pipe to save HP when i get around to putting that new motor in.

I've got the sweet talkin' purple hornies after headers on mine! Sounds fantastic. I have it set so that in gear idling at a light is around 600rpm and it just sounds great. plus it's fun when... you know

If you just want loud loud loud, get a small set of glass packs. Turn them around backwards will make them even louder.

Re: what's a good/loud glasspack?

Got 3" Thrush (FlowMaster rip-offs) for $29.99 each we have em on 3 trucks, mines the loudest, exiting in front of the rear wheels, LOVE IT! Unless you LIKE the Burning Fire-flys effect flying out of your exhaust at night, under hard acceleration, these will probably last longer.
