78 side molding question

Just picked up this one owner 1978 c10. I started to bring the paint back to life and realized that the molding needs to be replaced. I looked in LMC, Brothers and Truck and Car shop and couldn't find this particular style. Does anyone know where I could get my hands on this?

Thanks in advance.

Chad

Re: 78 side molding question

I don't think anyone is reproducing this style of trim.

Also, more pics!

...which is a shame, because I rather like that style trim.

Was that factory trim or dealer add on? And does anybody have a book showing that it was gm factory trim?

Re: 78 side molding question

nice looking truck from your picture, it looks like it says Scottsdale on the side, but you never know unless you have the glove box data. I have a 77 that had the cheyenne package on it, and the Scottsdale had very similar chrome on the body. I don't remember seeing that particular chrome package, but have a buddy that restored his chrome detail with a lot of elbow grease. I removed mine and had a number of holes to fill in, but was going to have it painted so it wasn't as big a deal. You may also want to ck. your vin # for the exact year of truck, 77' was the last year for screw-in gas caps, and the heavy half didn't have to run unleaded, and had the larger filler neck. Good luck on your project.
