New Here With A 67 c10
Recently just made an account but been browsing this forum for quite some time. My dad purchased a 67 c10 about 16 years or more back he parked it & covered it & its been in the same spot for the past 16+ years. I wanted to start a new project so i purchased it from my old man. Enough talking, here's some pics of my 1967 1/2 ton
Here it is after uncovering it for the first time after so many years. By the way does anyone know if that brushgaurd is orginally off these body styles ? Took the brushgaurd off. Threw on a new bumper & flat black light bezel's to go with the rallys. What do yall think of the side steps ? Picked up these seats & console this past weekend, let me know what yall think |

I'd ditch the side steps. I installed friction tape on my rocker panels after my ex-wife slipped getting in and bruised her leg. She was barely 5' tall but after the tape no problems for her. Can you stretch your legs out with those seats? |

Try placing some 2X4s under them and see if you prefer them higher for visibility, adjustability, etc., then if that's what you want fabricate or purchase some metal brackets. Keep adequate head clearance so you don't break your neck in a roll-over. I've heard later model Blazer brackets are good but I don't know for sure. Of course, like you did, install them adjusted all the way back and against the rear of the cab so they can be moved forward all the way for cleaning, etc. |

Has it been switched over to front disc brakes? Just curious from the 5 lug wheels. Cool rig.

My knee-jerk reaction was that it was aftermarket but there are some obscure details about these trucks, and some of them are from other countries (Canada, Mexico for instance) and have different option packages. So, that should put that to bed so to speak. |

Cool old truck, I like that brush guard. Keep the bench seats or find some Blazer seats. Just my opinion.

Welcome aboard. Working on a '69 C15 myself. From your pics looks like we're in the same boat. LOL

If you take them off, don't ditch them (or any other removed parts). You never know what you will eventually discover about your truck as to was stock. Quote:

or the truck wasn't built for the US market. That would be super cool! Can't tell from the photos but it looks like the front bumper may have been modified just to accommodate the brush guard. If that's true (factory OR dealer installed), it's probably very rare. Save both the bumper and brush guard as they are a team. BTW- half the bed is not stock to your truck (side marker lights..'68 and newer) on one side and '67 only on the other...hmm Also, if the original bench seat was still in it and you still have it, you may find the factory build sheet tucked up on the underside, held in with the seat springs. If so, that sheet holds a wealth of info and will weed out what it came with and what was dealer installed (that would be missing). Quote:
your truck from damage for nearly 50 years. I also agree with R.L. on the bench seat; I don't know anything about blazer seats btw, but I know the '67-68 bench seats are the most comfortable seats you can get for these trucks. I had 1968 buddy buckets, sold them & went back to a bench. I'm 5'2" BTW and even of my stature, they work well for long trips. If you have the bench and it tilts forward, stash it away. The '67-68 cores (tilt forward, full foam) are becoming quite sought after. Quote:
have the original dealer paperwork, it would indicate dealer installed...same with the side steps. One tip is if you eventually think you might change your headlight buckets and grill trim or need money for your build, don't toss your old parts as they are steel rather than aluminum and are fairly sought after for cores for chrome work. Second tip is don't get rid of the arms or backing plates that hold your outside mirrors on; they appear to be factory sport mirror stalks in the pics and something you will probably want to keep for reuse. Third tip is your doors are unique to 1967 ONLY. Much of which can't be bought after market...outside door handle, vent window... Also unique are the knobs in the cab for radio, wipers, headlights, etc. plus and the ashtray (I think) too.. . If it had a manual choke it has value for restorers. Good luck on researching...that's half the fun! Keep a good photo and written journal and it'll be a blast looking back at your personal history with your truck in the future! Again, don't toss anything! Give us PICS, PICS, PICS! If you would like, you could also give us the VIN (you can leave off the last few numbers) so we can help decode it for you. I mentioned keeping parts to sell to fund your build so please be aware you need to become a supporting member to do that. If you have any questions, please PM me or any other mod. Not pushing it but just a heads up. Great truck and all of us look forward to a build thread so we can follow along! OH, and yes, I tend to be kind of wordy. Re: New Here With A 67 c10
The guard is a dealer option and can be hard to find so might be worth saving for right person, but not factory option. Looks like truck is in good shape.

Re: New Here With A 67 c10
Neat old truck ! I agree, don't toss any of those parts. That slider is pretty rare. It can be refurbed pretty easy if need be I hear. I've only seen a couple brush guards like that and I wish I had like a c-30 or similar to put it on. Way cool. Good luck with what ever direction you go.
