Spindles

Well, as some of you might know I am completely redoing my front and rear suspension. I got the rear all squared away nice and pretty. Get to the front and the damn Spindle wont fit on the lower ball joint! I ordered the correct moog part # so I don't know if maybe the spindles came off a different truck or something. Everything was such rusted crap that I no longer have the old ball joints to compare.

^^^^ Before ^^^^

Turned out to be that PO Frankenstein'd the front end using spindles from a camaro/nova. I found that out by typing in the casting #'s and nothing but those forums came up.

Luckily for me I found some 1971 factory spindles on craigslist for 30 dollars. I got everything all situated and installed but it doesn't look right to me (Then again, I am a complete NOOB when it comes to brakes and suspension). The upper A Arm bump stop is resting on the cross member. Is that supposed to happen with no motor/heavy body panels on the truck? I have nothing to go off of to see if I did something wrong. Hopefully someone can help me. LoL

Re: Spindles

You are fine.
Those springs will compress with weight on the front suspension.

Re: Spindles

With virtually no weight on the front suspension, the upper bumpstops will be hard into the crossmember.
