ORD Zero Rate "Add-a-Leaf" questions
Are these safe to run on the front? I know blocks are not for the front, but what makes these different from a block? I don't know very much about lifts in general, and I was just looking at small lifts.
What does it mean by crossover steering when it mentions it may interfere in the front? http://www.offroaddesign.com/catalog/Zero%20Rates.htm Also, does the $40 price tag just include what is in the top picture?

the "zero rate" adds a little lift but does not stiffen the springs up front like a traditional add-a-leaf. the "zero rate" is bolted to the leaf spring pack. Blocks do not have a bolt going through them.
Cross over means the drag link that goes from the gear box to steering arm goes to the passenger side vice the driver side. Our trucks did not come like this, so if yours is not modified it has the short drag link on the driver's side and will not be a problem with the addition of a zero rate. Yep, what you see is what you get.

Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm |

Zero rates are sweet, I've used them on 3 different blazers I've owned. The first set was on my m1009 blazer to get the front up a little with the diesel so I had basically a 5 inch lift (4" spring + zero rate) in front and 4" (shackle flip) in back. I also moved the front axle forward 1.5" to keep the 37" tires from stuffing into the rear of the fenders.

Almost every kenworth I've been around has blocks?
If they're good enough for 12k+ axles... why won't they work on a pick up?

Yes. Technically it is just a short thick leaf spring that becomes part of the leaf pack when you install it. The kit comes with a longer center pin and a short bolt if you want to move the axle front or back. After you drop the axle, clamp the spring pack together, take out stock center pin, put zero rate in whatever position you want with new center pin and tighten it up take clamps off bolt axle back up with new u bolts and its done.
