LS swap radiator options?

Swapping an LQ4 6.0 into my c10 what's the best radiator/ place to deal with for my swap? Any help is appreciated.the old radiator is useable but slightly funky I'd rather invest in a better one with electric fans but not sure who to deal with/ the right configuration.looking for advice-Jeff

Re: LS swap radiator options?

I got a Griffin ls swap radiator for mine, I'm doing a 4.8l in my 76, its a nice radiator. I am having a little trouble mounting it though, I don't have the original radiator retainers and I am having to make some up. I know there is a vendor here on the board that sells radiators for this swap as well.

Re: LS swap radiator options?

I used a new stock radiator and clutch fan. Mostly because I am cheap.

Been lookin at the one with the trans cooler good price the review says it's 2 inches too tall think that's gonna be a pain? seems like a good deal I like the inlet is on the opposite side to get rid of the long top hose hmmm....

Re: LS swap radiator options?

After much contemplation and research I'm gonna take bbbc10s and others (Matt/Tom thanx for weighing in.)advice and go with the griffin radiator I'm highly allergic to buying things twice so I appreciate the input I don't want any overheating problems my stock radiator is still good but is kinda funky not gonna chance it

Re: LS swap radiator options?

You'll be much happier with a stock radiator, if you use a 2010 Camaro water pump. The waterneck is on the driver's side. It requires a minor relocation of the idler pulley. Dirty Dingo has a $26 kit to do that.

I used the 2010 Camaro pump, '05-'08 top hose, LQ4 lower hose, and H1 8.1L belt. My radiator is the OE 454 HD cooling option, with matching cushions and top plate from LMC. It's strapped down by a fan shroud I designed. Twin fans are from a LT1/LT4 Camaro.

Radiator was $140; Fans were pick-n-pull $20!!!; Top mount was about $40 with 4 cushions; Waterpump was $160, loaded with tensioner, pulley, thermostat and housing; Idler relocation bracket was $26; Top hose was $8; lower hose was $12; Belt was $35.
