Re: 8' lift tire size help
I thought BFG made a 37". Been wrong before, and plan on doing it again.

Re: 8' lift tire size help
i have mickey thompson baja belted? and they make a bit of noise. they are 39-15/16.5. they definately aren't the loudest tires, or most aggresive, but i think the treadwear wouold be ok. only have about 250 miles on mine so i have no idea for sure.

Re: 8' lift tire size help
Try ebay for some of the military Hummer take off tires. My brother has been talking about buying some for his blazer. He has found them for around $400(?) a set with the tits still on the tires. It seems like they are in the 37" range.

Re: 8' lift tire size help
I found them up to 37.5" but that was for a 22" rim. I'm sure they would be VERY pricey, along with the cost of new rims !!!

Re: 8' lift tire size help
8' (foot) lift? I would try some of those monster truck tires, you know like Big Foot. Be sure to post some picks after you install your 8' lift.

Re: 8' lift tire size help
I don't know if he's looking at retreads or not. Considering his last set of Boggers lasted him 5 years (due to keeping it off the pavement) I don't think he's very concerned about it.

Re: 8' lift tire size help
IMO,a 8 inch lift is overkill in most situations, not a good choice for a driver too.6 inch lift and lower is a good size lift for a driver.I have a 6 inch lift and 35s and Im happy with them. Its not a huge truck but its not small either.BFG All terrains arent that good in clay either in my experiences. You wont find a offroad tire with little noise.
Here is my 71 shortbed.6 inch lift and 35s.Tires are Pro Comp Mud Terrains.Rims are 16x10 Eagle Alloys Last edited by 1969k10stepside; 03-25-2007 at 06:23 PM. |

Re: 8' lift tire size help
I would highly recommend Toyo's. They come in every size imaginable to fit 15,16,17,18, etc. My buddy has a set of 315/70 r16 on his diesel. They look really aggresive but have a ride much like the BFG's.
I can't copy the picture but go to toyo.com and check out their Open Country M/T's. My favorite is the 37/14-15. I'm thinking of adding a few more inches of lift to my 85 shorty just so I can run these. The odd sizes are a bit more spendy, but trust me, there is a size for everyone.

Re: 8' lift tire size help
You can get BFG Krawlers in 37. WAY expensive, though.
I'm with the other guys, more than 6" of lift is too much IMO. 4" and 35's is a great choice for a driver. Even then, you may need to trim fenders a little for clearance.

Re: 8' lift tire size help
I know i said daily driver, but what i should have said is it will never go off road.I have 12 cars and a bike to choose from each morning to drive, so it really wont be an issue if its to big.Its more of a toy, like the rest of them.

Re: 8' lift tire size help
The MTRs are prolly the best on/off road tire out there,IMHO.I run them on my`91`Burb.They run smooth yet beat out A/Ts of road, hands down.

Re: 8' lift tire size help
Here's a link to ntwonline.com, I just bought some BFG MT's a couple weeks ago from here. They do make a 37 in the M/T:

Re: 8' lift tire size help
I know this is from a long time ago but in that pic is that just 6in suspension or do you have a body lift too? I have the same tires and I don't know how high I want/need to go.
