Brake hose fitting

So I purchased the stainless steel hard brake line kit from cpp. I also purchased their rubber brake line that goes to the caliper. I informed them I was using '77 calipers as I was doing a power brake conversion on my 68. The hard brake line threaded fitting is smaller than the female threaded hole on the rubber brake line. Id rather buy new stuff before I have to talk to another tech from CPP.

Is it possible to bring my hard lines to a brake shop and have them cut the ends off and put new fittings on? The other end of the rubber line with the banjo bolt seems to thread into the caliper just fine so the only thing keeping this project moving is threading the hard line into the rubber line.

Re: Brake hose fitting

I'm doing this conversion soon, and I think you can get an adapter to connect the rubber lines to the hard lines. Following along to see if anybody knows a part number.

Re: Brake hose fitting

Take the brake line and the caliper in at the same time and they can match up what you need. At my local NAPA store, they have a display with a bunch of 6" to 3' lines with many sizes of fittings. Find the fitting you need. Then you can ask for an adapter to convert the fixed stainless line fitting into the caliper.

Thumbs up Re: Brake hose fitting

Any good parts store should have draws full of fittings to adapt over.

Get out and drive the truck this summer and have some fun!
It sucks not being able to hear!

LWB trucks rule, if you don't think so measure your SWB!
After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

Re: Brake hose fitting

Checked several local auto parts places, none of them had it. I was given the name of a local hydraulic/brake shop. I will be trying them today.

Re: Brake hose fitting

Yes, a good shop should have the fitting needed. With the correct tool you could cut the end off the tube, swap fittings, and reflare the tube.
