Unhappy Gold Mine

Found a goldmine for parts for our trucks. Just one problem-he will not sell any of it. He is going to fix them up one day. All kinds of trucks (chevy & GMC) from 67-72 plus Blazers & Jimmys. I told him if he decieded to sell anything to let me know and I would pass it on. O well better luck next time.

Reminds me of an old gas station years ago at Klamath, CA. Old Corvettes all over the place - don't touch, not for sale!!! All gone now, I never heard what happened to them.

Same thing in my part of the country. 4 70-72 C30 duallies with a lot of nice parts with ZERO chance of the owner selling anything.

There is no way the man could fix all of them as he looks to be only 10 or 12 years younger then me (68). We went by to see if the 72 Blazer he had in driveway was for sell -it was -$12,000.00-and not finished-(to rich for our blood) when we saw all the other goodies. I told him if he wanted to sells parts that I could sell them for him. He said no thanks as he was going to fix them up "someday". He even had 2 1955 Bell-Air HT that could be restored. He has a 4-bay garage behind his house that he works out of with the cars and truck parked around it plus some beside his house. Of course he could have some sons that will get to finish them. Would have been nice to look to see what all a man could pick over. Sorry for so long but did not want to leave Dan72cst hanging to long. LOL

Alway seems like the same thing, "If you can see them from the road, they can't be bought". I live on a highway; folks will stop constantly, I'm always polite, and I did sell one once 4 or 5 yrs. ago. What ticks me is they will ignore the Harley, trip over the vette, go around the 72 Nova, pretend they don't see the 67,68, or 72 trucks, then ask if the 71 VW convertable (restored summertime toy),is for sale! I have to keep it in the barn with the tractor in front of it. No accounting for taste.

I know how you feel. There is an old junk yard that shut down in the late 70's in my old town in S.C. that is the same way. The owner died and his widow just shut the gate and said nothing goes. I havent been there in a couple years, but everything was still sitting there. The majority of the car were late 60's an earlier. Muscles cars, tri-5 hardtops and converts of all make, couple corvettes, and enough street rod material to make a lot of people happy. All rotting away. Theres a second yard I know of in the woods too. Mostly 30's, 40's vintage stuff. And a lot of mopar muscle cars. A LOT of complete cars. Again, no sale.! Makes you kind of sick. I know they may not all be restorable because of sitting, but there was a lot of good pieces.
