C20 For a $1

Thought many of you would appreciate this. I talk briefly about it in my build thread, but finally found the article.

My Gramps won his 1970 C20 from Equestrian Trails magazine for a $1 raffle ticket back in 1970.

Gramps is the humblest and best man I know and I am so thankful I found this article documenting his reaction and story. I will be framing this alongside his license plate and a few other memorabilia as a momento to him in my work office.

Great story. Coincidentally, I lived in Fullerton at the time and had bought my truck at Barton's Chevrolet in Yorba Linda about 8 months earlier.

Whoa, seriously?? Thats awesome! I tried contacting some of the original owners to get a lp frame or something, but no luck.

I absolutely refuse to drive a vehicle that provides free advertising for the dealer. So, I peel off stickers and toss the plate frames. However, now that I've restored the truck, I wish I'd kept those frames. I have a picture that has the front frame and its paper advertising "plate", but it's taken of a slide and is pretty blurry when zoomed in. Says "Where the Price is Less and Service is Best". So now, when I go to car shows out west I look for a Barton's frame. Go figure.

I agree. This is the reason I want one, for sentimental value.
