Re: CL buckets from 65 nova SS (not mine)

Late 1980's. 1988 or '89

I saw the car about 5 years later at a Super Chevy show in Baytown Texas.

On a trailer, slicks, no interior except racing seat and no VIN tag. There was something unique to the car so I knew it was mine.

I asked the owner(?) where he got it and he said he bought it out of Angleton Texas. He didn't impress me as a thief but who knows? I tried to get the Sheriff, who was working the track, to help me. He asked "How long ago? - Forget about it".

I'm still looking for it. They didn't make too many of those '65 SS

I read a story recently about a 57 Chevy that was stolen 30 years ago. It was found in a shipping container and returned to the owner. It had been fully restored and upgraded. When it was stolen it was in need of restoring. The owner made out like a bandit, but it took 30 years.
Heres the link to the story. Sorry to hear about your Nova though. Maybe some day it will find its way home.
