8 lug to 5 lug rotor

I want to switch my 78 3/4 ton into a 5 lug bolt pattern can I just switch the front rotors or do I have to switch spindles too? Thanks Telly.

Spindles need switched too. Which leads to swapping lower control arms since the half ton ball joints are too small for the ball joint hole in the 3/4 ton lower arm. It kind of becomes a pain to piecemeal it all together. It's much, much easier and likely cheaper to just buy an entire 1/2 front end and swap the arms, steering, spindles, everything.

The last one I bought was 150 off of Craigslist. That got me an entire frame cut off from a half ton Suburban. You get every single little widget you will ever need all in one package.

Or get 1/2t spindles reamed to 3/4t ball joints.
And maybe chang rubber flex brake line. I know 1t is different not sure about 3/4t

Re: 8 lug to 5 lug rotor

I have a set of Detroit steel wheels that I want to put on this, I already have dropped spindles on it I may just have to sell the wheels and try to find something else.

Re: 8 lug to 5 lug rotor

www.earlyclassic.com sells a conversion drop spindle to do exactly what you want.
Bolts on your 3/4 ton truck and used 1/2 ton rotors and calipers.
