My first love wasn't even mine

I decided to share this with you guys, I've been holding on to it for quite a while. I fell in love with it at a young age.
I loved trucks, trucks, trucks, from the first time could say the word. I learned alot before I even owned one by reading mags, I used to drool over truck and trader mags.
Here she is, from the July 1992 issue of "Petersen's 4wheel and off-road". That would've made me the ripe old age of 16. Yes, I still have the mag. Fact is I still have every truck mag I've ever owned and that's quite a few.

Are you going to build one for yourself? Looks pretty gnarly.

Re: My first love wasn't even mine

I'm not gonna start a build thread cause it may be a running for the longest build, but Long story short I have a set of 2.5 ton rockwells and a 86 crewcab chevy thats gonna run 53" michelins. That's my street truck,
currently what I've got for my mud truck is a set of 10 ton meritor steering axles, An 89 crewcab Chevy, 4- 35.5" wide by almost 80" tall R2 ag tires.
I have a pile of 1/2 and 3/4 ton 4x4 Chevys, I'm buying a 5 ton tandom axle military rig this week for my tow rig. It's a childhood addiction. Lol

Re: My first love wasn't even mine

ok, you asked for it here goes:
My first truck, I have some polaroids of this one when it was very clean.
79 Scottdale
4" suspension lift, 3" bodY
3/4t rear, 1/2t front,
350 engine
TH 350 tranny
NP205
38" swampers:

78 Blazer
12" Superlift
3/4t front and rear
454 engine
TH400 tranny
NP205
40" onions
PTO winch
best thing of this truck is the cool swivel bucket seat out of a van.
"yes It has a hood, i had it off in these pics cause i just put the engine in"

85 Chevy, Eage tug conversion
no suspension
3 Ton ZF planetary axles (22:1)
I got it without the factory diesel, tranny and case
tires are 10" wide and 38" tall

86 crewcab
350 engine
TH350 tranny
MY 2.5T rockwells are what I plan to put under this one.

86 Silverado
no motor
TH350
stock lift
31" tires
This truck was too tight for me to pass up, an older man had it. Then the guy before me started pulling stuff and I snatched it up.

Here's my mud truck and parts
89 crewcab
454
TH400
lift will be somewhere about 40" from stock
35.5x32 R2 rice and cane's
At this point I need to buy DOM tubing to start my sub-frame.

Well thats my junk, I'm supposed to go today to make a deal on a 5 ton military truck.

Re: My first love wasn't even mine

Oh, baby. Look at those big, wide tires in that first photo. That is something I miss. It used to be possible to find 35in tires that were 15 inches wide, and 38~40in tires that were 17~18in wide.

It's nearly impossible to find big WIDE tires anymore.
