See, I was fairly sure that it was a factory installed option -- I doubt they would put them in the brochure unless it was in the trucks from the factory. Next time I have them out I'll look for a part number. I do believe they are stamped into the plastic cover...

Good job Slonaker! I have also seen a GM pickup brochure with the same setup, only in a different color.

Jeremy, if and when you were looking for your 82, the reason you or your GM contact couldn't find them is because it wasn't offered on 81+ trucks...only pre 80 I believe.

I had a set in an 80 Sierra Classic trimmed Jimmy as well. They looked factory, so I figured they were. I have only seen them on 80 models though.

i may be wrong, i dont know. the GM catalogs i was looking at were 73-86 C/K catalogs of various ages. someone mentioned the speaker pods for the door, and told me that they had seen them on a pre-80, so i was looking for anything 73-87. i just find it funny that so many people have them, and GM has never even heard of them.

ATTENTION ATTENTION ATTENTION

I have been on this board and the "other" for over three years...and this is the FIRST time I have seen Jeremy admit he may be wrong and that he doesn't know!

This is about as rare as a lunar eclipse!

the "i dont know" was in refrence to the first part of the sentence. i guess i should have worded it "i may be wrong, i am not sure that i am wrong, therefore i may be correct". is that better Jeff? oh yeah...

When I was installing stereos in the early 90's Ampersand made a set of chevy truck speaker mounts for 6X9's & they looked pretty close to the factory ones. You may want to check at a stereo shop & see if they are still available...corn
