interesting wrecking yard find curious to know more
Saw this truck at the yard today. It's a 77 camper special. Spid is gone look close at the paint scheme this is what has me wondering. Looked factory. I'm guessing a special edition but not sure since most of those were badged bonanza?

Re: interesting wrecking yard find curious to know more
There are remnants of a stripe package on there. Look close on passenger door.

Re: interesting wrecking yard find curious to know more
In 76 there were stripes on some trucks for the bicentennial. My parents had a white C&C w/ red and blue stripes but I don't recall the pattern.

Re: interesting wrecking yard find curious to know more
I'm pretty familiar with the 76 stripe packages and that was my first thought because the stripes are red and blue how ever the cab band and door panels indicate it's later than 76. 77 to be exact based on trim color

Re: interesting wrecking yard find curious to know more
Seems like it might have been some company truck paint job. I've never seen factory applied paint fade blotchy like that.

superwade57: If you go back there, you ought to pull those door panels. Worth something if they're in decent shape.

Re: interesting wrecking yard find curious to know more
I am interested in the door panel with the butt massage speaker location. First time I seen one of those.
If someone simply shot the door the graphic would be covered as well as the rust. Minus the rust. That paint job looks almost as good as mine. That paint is a result of the truck sitting most of it's life and never getting washed/waxed. A film forms on the paint and eats away at the clear. Once the clear is gone all it takes is a good amount of temperature difference and you can see lines. My hood supports are clearly visible and I think I may have the exact same temperature line on my fenders. |

Re: interesting wrecking yard find curious to know more
I'm thinking the stripes was some companies logo,It has the wood sides on the bed so it was a work truck for a long time.
