Some brakes have a check valve installed so that when there is no vacuum you still have a small amount in the booster.
Have you tried to do as I suggested above to see if you even have vacuum in the booster after you shut the truck off? |

Enaberif - I haven't tried as my wiring is fried. That is my other goal before I go back to work.
My 79 started out vacuum with filter thingy. Got rid of filter n worked fine. Then when I got a 77 cab with hydroboost I got rid of hydroboost to go back to vacuum with new booster and that is when the problem arose. Does that help?

i think we need pics at this point. lets see what you have it maybe something is mixed matched. i know that check valve i have had problems with on some car i worked on it did the same thing i think. now i am guessing against myself. pics will help i think
