how low can you go?
Just wondering how low can you go without bags ? Would like to get as low as possible without bags, but if I have too I will go the bag route.

A 5-7 is the lowest bolt on drop.
With a grinding wheel, a torch, and little to no common sense you can go 1 inch off the ground before pebbles are major obstacles. |

The control arms 1" off the ground isn't the best idea. Not really that safe either. If you want ground dragging low build for ground dragging low, you'll be happier in the long run.

You could go 6/8 with taller tires but then you will need to modify your inner fenders, notch the frame etc.
You can run an aftermarket crossmember and be lower with coil overs. You could also do a minor Z in the front and go lower on a stock set up. You can do a 5/7 or 6/8 static drop and do a traditional body drop for a few more inches. It all depends on how much work you want to do...

When I was about 19 I had a toyota that was static dropped about 1" off the pavement. I hit a manhole cover going about 30mph that was sticking up at one edge. It stopped the truck and bent the frame. Bags are a way better and safer alternative.

I have about a 5.5/7 6/8 drop. 2 inch lowered CPP Moudular spindles with 2inch lowered springs with about half a coil cut off and Porterbuilt rear trailing arms with 3inch drop built in and 4inch lowered springs and a c-notch. I know 4 + 3=7 on the rear but after it was all said and done it was 8 inches lower. Rides good no rubbing expect on the front if you hit a big big dip, I have a big block if it were a small block don't think it would ever happen.
