Oklahoma here starting the process (long process)

Hello from Oklahoma City Ok.
Recently picked up a 1963 Long fleetside c10 from a friend that was having some cash flow issues. To be honest the plan was a quick flip of a pretty straight classic. Well then a few nights of intenet surfing and i am hooked. Trying to get my garage cleaned out enough to get the truck in and start wrenching. Did a few restomods when i was a kid,(52 now) and the scope of this resto is way beyond anything i did back then lol. But i now have a "vision" of what this truck is going to be when im done and is just a matter of getting it done now, but somewhere down the line there is gonna be a slice Hugger orange and white 63 longbed roaming the streets of Okc.

Welcome to the forum. You've probably already figured this out, but you're among friends here.

But...

Re: Oklahoma here starting the process (long process)

Just a little more than paint, Going to swap out the suspension for 73-81 stuff i picked up at a salvage yard, keeping my cross member just swaping the control arms, steering linkage, swaybar etc. Next will be pwr disc brakes, and power steering, not looking forward to the bending of brake lines after some of the threads ive read on here, Kind of in a toss up about relocating the tank to the rear at this point. Then the engine going with a 350 with a rv cam out of a Newman boat and im gonna keep the powerglide that came with it, the 283 was locked up tighter than a drum. After it is a safe "driver" comes the body work both rockers, a chunk of floor and both door bottoms need to be worked for rust, got mostly lucky on the hood and fenders the PO had already done the rust on the bed, So yeah a little more than pain LOL

Sounds good!! I haven't ran my brake lines yet. I looked into some kits they are really over priced. To me the gas tank relocation is a must!! Mine still had it in the cab when I bought it. The gas smell was awful. I put mine under the bed I think it's going to work out great.
